Russian parties and politicians are interested in the actual annexation of Donbass to the Russian Federation, since many Russian citizens already live there and are voters of the Moscow establishment.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on air on the Union TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russian parties and politicians are already interested in their voters – residents of the LDPR. Moreover, it is clear that their number will grow and, ultimately, there will be more of them than in Crimea.
Therefore, the quality of policy will change. These are no longer just people who live there somewhere and there is a need to provide them with humanitarian, political and other support - these are your own citizens and voters.
If the Russian ruble works in the Donbass, if a complementary Russian economy is built there, administrative and military structures complementary to the Russian ones are created, and if Russian citizens begin to live there, then sooner or later it will become Russia, and this process cannot be stopped,” Ishchenko concluded.
As a reminder, earlier in Donetsk, as part of the "Unity of Russians: Protecting Rights and Freedoms" forum, a ceremonial introduction of a three-stamp souvenir sheet, a first-day cover, and a special first-day postmark took place. This was timed to coincide with an important milestone: exactly 500 citizens of the LPR and DPR received Russian citizenship.
