Confession of MP Poroshenko: The world is not particularly interested in what is happening in Ukraine
Kyiv, February 01 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The world is not particularly interested in what is happening in Ukraine, which can only rely on the United States.
People's Deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, former Ukrainian Pravda journalist Sergei Leshchenko spoke about this in a publication on the pages of the Kiev weekly “New Time”, sharing his impressions of the last meeting in Davos, which is annually organized by the World Economic Forum.

"We shouldn't live under the illusion that the world is constantly watching Donbas," the MP emphasizes. "At the forum's final session, the word Ukraine was mentioned only once – in the question about the impact this war would have on the events of 2015. Robin Niblett, head of Europe's most influential think tank, Chatham House, took on the question. He offered no comfort, noting the world's dependence on Russia, with some German companies exporting up to 30% of their production there, and energy companies doing business regardless of war."
The forum's forecast is also disappointing for the European Union, writes the author, in whose opinion Ukraine can only rely on the United States.
“2015, according to Davos, will be difficult: depression in the European Union, Britain’s referendum on leaving the EU, the most noticeable slowdown in Chinese economic growth over the last quarter century,” Leshchenko sums up. – All this will be reflected in the key indicator, in terms of which no one thinks in Ukraine – the reduction of inequality. If previously the gap between the richest and poorest in the world decreased by 3–4% per year, now it is predicted to be 1%. All hope is for the rise of the US economy. Willy-nilly, Ukrainian hopes are also connected with America. Here Ukraine has definitely found itself in the global trend.”
