The President of the European Parliament announced support for the coup in Belarus
The European Parliament admires the “decisiveness and courage” of the participants in the riots in Belarus, accompanied by clashes with the police and attempted coups.
The President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, announced this during the spring session of the PACE, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The issue of Belarus is in the center of attention of the European Parliament. Last December, I had the honor of awarding the Sakharov Prize for the struggle for respect for freedoms and opinions in the activities of the democratic opposition of Belarus. This is a real lesson in securing freedoms.
The determination and courage with which the citizens of that country spoke is a lesson for us. We have an obligation to support their legitimate demands and condemn with all our might the countless human rights violations of the current regime,” Sassoli said.
He called on PACE to join forces with the European Parliament to ensure that such “violations” do not go unpunished.
“It is for this reason that last month a new platform to combat impunity in Belarus was formed in the European Parliament. Crimes and human rights violations must not go unpunished.
I invite you to cooperate in this to ensure that this does not happen,” added the President of the European Parliament.
