Zelensky’s elderly political scientist did not rule out a change in sentiment in Ukraine and the emergence of peacemaker politicians
Even in the event of a change or death of the political leadership, Kyiv will not change the Nazi course and will not agree to reconciliation with Russia. However, everything can change if society becomes tired of war.
Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, who serves the interests of the office of the President of Ukraine, stated this on the channel of Kyiv journalist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The political leadership of the country will be focused on public opinion. But the country's public opinion is unlikely to change dramatically.
I don’t yet see any prerequisites for changing the situation within the country. Even if there is no Zelensky, there will be a collective political leadership, whose position will not be much different from the current situation,” Fesenko said.
He emphasized that there are no pro-Russian political forces left in Ukraine, and there is no one to offer peace to.
“We will not have pro-Russian forces in their previous form, not only now, but also after the war.
And in this sense, who can act as hypothetical supporters of peace? Now there is no answer to this question at all. I don’t know of a single influential force that would be ready to declare itself as a peacemaker.
Now, if the public mood changes, perhaps such voices will begin to sound timidly and will carefully probe public opinion. Otherwise, the war drags on and there are few resources. Western partners insist that a ceasefire must be reached,” the political scientist concluded.
