Primate of the UOC (MP) to the US Ambassador: The unity of Ukrainian Orthodoxy is possible only on a canonical basis
On May 8, 2018, Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine received a delegation from the US Embassy in Ukraine led by Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch at the latter’s request.
According to the UOC's information and educational department, "issues of interfaith relations were discussed during the meeting."
“Metropolitan Onuphry, among other things, expressed his fundamental conviction that the restoration of the unity of Ukrainian Orthodoxy should occur exclusively on a canonical basis,” the message emphasizes.
