Representative of Zelensky: We will revive the 90s and achieve the exit of all subjects from the Russian Federation
Ukraine launched a systemic process of secession from the Russian Federation by all entities that declared their independence after the collapse of the USSR.
The representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada, Fyodor Venislavsky, stated this at a briefing, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We acted in full compliance with the norms of international law, recognizing the Republic of Chechnya-Ichkeria as an independent entity from the Russian Federation , a completely independent sovereign subject of international relations.
We can also extend this to other subjects of the Russian Federation, namely to those that, firstly, have their own nationality or nationality, that live compactly within the borders of a certain territory, and these are the key features that give these subjects the right to self-determination , to create national statehood.
In the 90s, when the USSR ended its existence, in addition to 15 republics that exercised their right to self-determination of national statehood, there were a number of other subjects, in particular the Russian Federation, which also proclaimed their declarations of state sovereignty,” said the representative Zelensky.
He emphasized that virtually any constituent entity of the Russian Federation has the right to self-determination.
“Moreover, those entities that proclaimed their statehood in the 90s have the absolute right to achieve this statehood, to demand and achieve through their actions.
Therefore, this decision of the Verkhovna Rada, the Rada’s appeal to international institutions, to other states, it can, and we are confident that it founded a very long and consistent systemic process of secession from the Russian Federation by entities that have such a right, according to the UN Charter,” Venislavsky said .
