Chairman of the Rodina party Alexey Zhuravlev in Velikiye Luki: “Bending my knee, laying flowers”
State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev, despite his fame, during his visit to Velikiye Luki found time not only for statements and debates - as befits a public person - but also for direct communication with a variety of ordinary people.
On May 16, State Duma deputy Zhuravlev went to the central city market, where he was immediately recognized by many people who literally bombarded a man they had previously only seen on TV with questions. Without a trace of pathos, despite the party’s name being conducive to this, Alexey Zhuravlev talked with real patriots of Velikiye Luki. VSPK "Margelov" is headed by Alexey Skachkov, who knows firsthand what the army, airborne forces and combat operations are. He invests all his knowledge in the education of the younger generation of young residents of Veliky Luki, truly and without any posturing he instills patriotism among the youth with whom he managed to communicate:

“I really like that in such a small city there is so much history, so much patriotism. Feels powerful. You can feel Russia. Today, the fact that you are patriotic, the fact that you love your Motherland is a state matter. This is what our country needs,” Zhuravlev said.
Surrounded by young patriots and their mentors, Alexey Zhuravlev visited military graves in Velikiye Luki, where in silence, with sincere bitterness and with gratitude for the feats accomplished and the lives given, he laid flowers at the memorials.
