The Russian government rejected the introduction of a mobilization economy
There's no need to create a mobilization economy in Russia. First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov stated this in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Whoever wants to understand what it is can look at the 30s of the USSR. This is one of the models... It is always a militarized story, a renunciation of personal interests in favor of the state. Therefore, I think that it makes no sense for us to create a mobilization economy now, we simply won’t be able to do it, but we have a sufficient number of reserves and levers that we can use to solve the tasks that both the president and herself set life,” Belousov said.
He outlined a number of measures that the government intends to take.
“If we talk about the long-term agenda, it is to create the most favorable conditions for investors. These are the tasks of the technological agenda, which are not limited to technological sovereignty. This is the implementation of supportive social policies that will reduce poverty and support consumer demand. Plus, there is a whole range of targeted industrial projects that need to be implemented. They are quite well calculated. This is a program until approximately 2030,” Belousov said.
According to him, about 20 projects are being developed, which should give an economic growth of 21%.
Former diplomat Mikhail Dimurin criticized the words of the Deputy Prime Minister.
“The “available levers” have not been able to provide a solution to the most pressing problems of our life in recent decades: neither to reduce poverty, nor to stop the extinction of the country’s indigenous population, nor, say, to restore our automobile or aircraft manufacturing industry... But to ensure victory in the war with the strongest enemy, they , as Andrey Belousov convinces us, they can,” comments Dimurin.
However, economist Nikita Krichevsky was pleased with Belousov’s words.
“And rightly so, because the loudmouths don’t even know what a mobilization economy is. It provides for the switching of industrial enterprises to the production of military products, the mobilization of material resources of agriculture, the military restructuring of transport, the mobilization of construction personnel and machinery for the construction of military factories and enterprises cooperated with them, the mobilization of labor, the introduction of mandatory overtime work, the attraction of the non-working population to work, the mobilization food reserves. Left-wing politicians, including the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov, insist on introducing a mobilization economy in Russia.
“The threats facing our country have not only not weakened, but on the contrary are growing. Tension in society is increasing. Therefore, government regulation of prices for essential goods is required. We have introduced the corresponding bill 5 times. And it must be accepted. After all, the main duty of the state is to help people who are having a hard time. It is important, finally, to realize that continuing the previous course and actually refusing to transition to a policy of advanced development in the current conditions is not just unacceptable! It’s unthinkable!” Zyuganov said from the rostrum of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
