Quarantine easing will not be earlier than May, - Prime Minister
Quarantine measures in Ukraine will last as long as the economy and the moral and psychological state of people can withstand.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine cannot afford to sit on the couch for two or three months, so the economy will have to be launched, this is an extremely important issue. If the dynamics of a decrease in the incidence rate is recorded, then only in May we will begin to talk about possible easing of quarantine measures. This will definitely not be done on April 14, as was disseminated in some fake information that spread through Ukrainian information channels yesterday.
I would like to emphasize that throughout April we will not deviate from the quarantine regime, which was introduced and will be carried out until the established April 24 and, most likely, will continue until the beginning of May. In May, under conditions of positive dynamics, we will launch the Ukrainian economy according to a specific plan, which will be additionally announced by the government, communicated, clearly outlined, and everyone will know their role, time and place, when they start going to work, when they start working fully, what There will be social standards for our life in the month of May: mask regime, social distances, a schedule based on the start and end times of working hours, so as not to create a rush hour.
Today the government is working quite hard on all these points and on all these tasks and, I hope, effectively, because the country will see and hear all these things first-hand,” Shmygal said.
He urged not to give in to the spreading fake news about this matter.
“We will not move away from quarantine measures in April. The World Health Organization yesterday appealed to the governments of all countries with a request not to ease quarantine measures where they produce results. Ukraine is one of those countries that are recommended to continue quarantine for as long as possible, as long as the economy and the moral and psychological state of people can withstand, because this is an effective means of saving the lives of Ukrainians,” added the Ukrainian Prime Minister.
