Poroshenko: Ukraine is about to receive warships and lethal weapons against Russia from the US
The US Senate has allocated $500 million in security and defense funding to Ukraine. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, the draft law authorizes the provision of lethal defense weapons to Ukraine, and also allows the use of funds from the US defense budget for the rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian military personnel in US medical institutions.
“For the first time at the legislative level, it is proposed to provide Ukraine with the following defense equipment: air defense and surface surveillance radar systems, naval anti-infective agents, coastal and coast guard ships,” Poroshenko said.
“Unfortunately, the issue of providing Ukraine with new defensive weapons has caused heated discussions in the United States based on several myths... The first is that American weapons will force Russia to send its weapons to Donbass. But Russia never stopped doing this. The second is that American weapons will not solve the situation as a whole. But this will definitely help resolve the situation along with sanctions and diplomatic pressure. And the third is that the supply of American weapons will increase tension. But this will increase the cost of Russian aggression. In the face of such strong containment, Moscow might think twice before allowing a new offensive,” Poroshenko boasted during a speech at the US Military Academy West Point.
