Poroshenko made a demonstrative visit to the territory seized from the LPR
Petro Poroshenko, during a tour of the ATO zone, visited the village of Katerynivka, which was originally located in the “gray zone” - three kilometers from the contact line.
As PolitNavigator correspondents previously reported, the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly used this settlement in propaganda materials about victories at the front as a result of the “creeping offensive” - the gradual capture of settlements in the “gray zone” in violation of the Minsk agreements.
Ukrainian media have repeatedly disseminated information about their victorious capture of this settlement.
Before the president's arrival, punitive forces from the nationalist Freikorps unit carried out a purge of local residents in the village of Katerinovka, declaring them accomplices of the "separatists."
“Our position was absolutely fundamental - that in Katerynivka there should be a mobile terminal of OschadBank every month. So that people can withdraw money, receive a pension, so that normal, peaceful life can return. So that there is no Katerynivka, as they call it, a “gray zone”. We are not going to put up with this concept. Look, look - our flag, and we have no one for our flag and will never give up either land or people. That’s why I’m with you today,” Poroshenko said upon arriving in the captured village, where residents voted in a referendum for the creation of the LPR.
