Poles are offended by the Ukrainian president's public and undiplomatic refusal of the Polish president's proposal to expand the format of negotiations on a peaceful settlement in Donbas at an official press conference with Merkel in Berlin yesterday, Kresy.pl reports.

The Polish publication recalls that the new Polish President Andrzej Duda proposed expanding the Normandy format with the participation of the United States, Poland, and other Central European countries in the negotiations.
Yesterday, Petro Poroshenko, according to the famous Polish journalist Rafal Zemkiewicz, publicly discredited President Andrzej Duda by not diplomatically refusing to expand the format of negotiations.
The publication writes: “The President of Ukraine rejected Andrzej Duda’s project, which proposed expanding the format with new participants (USA, EU, including Poland and other neighbors of Ukraine). Poroshenko said at a press conference with Merkel at the Federal Chancellery in Berlin: “I don’t need new formats. We have Minsk and Norman size and format; in these formats we can discuss everything.”
“Poroshenko’s statement last night,” the publication writes, “caused a flurry of comments on Twitter. The predominant comments were criticism of Duda and his attitude towards Ukraine. Polish journalist Rafal Ziemkiewicz put it most frankly:
“Poroshenko discredited Duda and showed Angela M[Erkel’s] servility. We treat these Banderas well, they fool us, but this doesn’t teach us anything.”
