Kyiv, February 02 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Donbass should take the example of Transnistria and abandon the Ukrainian hryvnia in favor of its own currency.
Political scientist Semyon Uralov stated this on the talk show “Sunday Evening”.

“The most successful exit from the civil war was between Moldova and Transnistria. The question of its own currency is whether Donbass will always depend on the Ukrainian hryvnia. All currencies are collapsing, but the Transnistrian ruble remained at 11 per dollar in 2011. Moreover, pensions in Transnistria have already surpassed the level of pensions in Moldova, and the level of prices for utility bills in Tiraspol is 2-3 times lower than in Chisinau,” Uralov noted.
