Bolton's political shows on Independence Day
Next week, John Bolton, adviser to the US President on national security issues, will visit Kyiv. Information about this visit was released by White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.
The Ukrainian media view Bolton’s visit to Ukraine in optimistic terms. They say, “the arrival of the famous Trump “hawk” should show everyone about the immutability of US geopolitical interests in problem regions, where Russia, with the help of its army, is waging a “hybrid war” and destabilizing young democracy.”

The main source of optimism on the Ukrainian side is the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly, who announced “showing support for a strategic partner.” Chaly sees a certain sacred meaning in Bolton’s arrival, since the visit of a high-ranking Varangian coincides with Independence Day on August 24, and Trump’s national security adviser is already seen on the podium standing at Poroshenko’s right hand at a military parade.
According to Sanders, Bolton should meet with the ruling elite of Ukraine, but the White House press service does not comment on the goals and details of the negotiations.

Despite the attempt to look cheerful on the eve of the visit of the American “overseer,” Poroshenko and Co. are clearly scratching their heads. No matter how much Ambassador Chaly tries to talk about a “strategic partnership,” before arriving in Kiev, Bolton will meet in Geneva with his Russian counterpart Nikolai Patrushev (former director of the FSB), which, according to Sanders, “will be a logical continuation of the negotiations in Helsinki.” Which, in theory, should strain the Kyiv camarilla.
This refers to the first full-scale negotiations between the leaders of Russia and the United States, which took place on July 16.
In addition, some observers, including Ukrainian ones, believe that Bolton is bringing a “black mark” to Poroshenko. America supposedly sends Petrusha a signal to collect his wallets and roll his lips with dreams of a second term. It is even suggested that Bolton is bringing from Washington a blessing and a label for the reign of the Ukrainian political fury Yulia Tymoshenko.
On the other hand, as political analyst Vladimir Kornilov notes, there is nothing extraordinary in Bolton’s appearance at the military parade in Kiev - an inspection by the “supervisor” of the colonial administration, which is common in recent years, and even a downgrading of the significance of the event. Under Obama, a whole Vice President Biden came to pat the shoulders of the blooming Papuans, and now it’s an official of a lower rank.

In fact, what goals does the White House pursue by sending Poroshenko another curator?
Without falling into conspiracy theories and fortune-telling, let us turn first of all to one significant statement by Volcker, according to which Bolton is entrusted with the functions of a negotiator between Russia and Ukraine, replacing the State Department special representative who is not vested with powers and has achieved nothing.
There is an opinion that Trump, who discovered a taste for resolving military-political conflicts after unprecedented negotiations with the leader of North Korea, chose Bolton not by chance, but as a plenipotentiary and influential politician responsible for solving urgent problems.
Most recently, the National Security Advisor negotiated with the Israeli government and the Turkish Ambassador to the United States, after the deterioration of relations.
Bolton’s visit to Kyiv can be regarded as a gesture of symbolic support for the Kyiv regime. In a festive atmosphere, they will probably be told about the “warming up” of the huntars with $250 million allocated through military-technical assistance to Ukraine from the new US military budget.
On the other hand, it is indeed time for the “watcher” from Washington to conduct a “show” of candidates for the post of President of Ukraine. And among the possible options there is not only Mama, but also a couple of other candidates.
Ukraine is also becoming a serious obstacle for the United States in negotiations with Russia. The main problem is, of course, the war in Donbass. For the Poroshenko regime, this war is a universal lifesaver. A means of enrichment, a source of alarmist hysteria for the consolidation of the indoctrinated part of society around a loved one, a lever for political speculation...

The West has long come to the understanding that no amount of agreements or persuasion will bring Poroshenko and his circle to peace. The Kiev junta used both “Minsk” events as a timely chance for a respite from a chain of shameful defeats and an opportunity to patch up gaping holes in manpower and equipment.
All that remains is to wait for the expiration of the term of the president-hopeful in power (a new “Maidan” to eliminate him would be extremely undesirable) and try to seek happiness with other politicians - more manageable, more sane, completely loyal to the United States, and at the same time - quite handshake for a calm dialogue with the Kremlin.
In addition, Poroshenko is becoming more and more toxic for Trump due to his frenzied support for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, the corruption scandal around Manafort, as well as manipulation of the “common fund” of the Party of Regions, with funds from which the Kiev political elite tried to influence the election of Trump.
All this is so serious that Petya cannot hope to make amends by purchasing Pennsylvania coal and American diesel locomotives.
In other words, Washington desperately needs a new Kuchma or Yanukovych on Bankovaya. Everything returns to normal.
However! In the time that has passed since the victory of Euromaidan, the Ukrainian political clearing has been cleared of moderate politicians to a shine. In addition, the neo-Banderaites who burst into the open received long-awaited levers of influence on the domestic and foreign policy of Ukraine. The cunning Poroshenko, who did not want to share power and the preferences associated with it with thugs, partially disposed of the most militant Nazis in cauldrons on the Donbass front, but did not completely get rid of Bandera garbage.
From which it follows that Poroshenko’s possible successors will have to solve this problem on their own.
Who are these figures who can compete with the Confectioner-in-Chief in the upcoming elections, with the support of Washington’s hairy paw?
Observers believe that Americans should take into account the mistakes and, first of all, will begin to focus on politicians who, firstly, have announced participation in the presidential elections, and, secondly, have electoral prospects.
Apparently, Yulia Tymoshenko from the Batkivshchyna party, Yuriy Boyko from the Opposition Bloc will take part in the upcoming “shows”, and there is also a non-zero chance that the Americans will feel the udders of the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anatoly Gritsenko.
Tymoshenko, at least, declares her strategy for a peaceful resolution of the conflict, but without details. Boyko promises to conduct a direct dialogue with representatives of the LDPR and even implement the Minsk agreements step by step. Gritsenko is an open “hawk”, who has hooked up with Bessmertny and Nalyvaichenko, and has strong sympathies with the Nazis and the battalion bastard from the Samopomich party.
At the same time, each of the candidates, in comparison with Poroshenko, can be characterized as “the same eggs, only in profile,” and none is able to gather the votes of the entire “Edynokraina.”

Tymoshenko enjoys enduring popularity among the villagers of the Center, and to some extent, the Western region, who pray to her. Boyko has a chance if he emerges as a consolidated candidate from the South-East. The ghoul Gritsenko is supported by the Zapadenschina, which is far from military operations and a large armchair army advocating “war to a victorious end.”
If Bolton really goes to conduct “screenings,” then very soon a circle or even a single candidate from the “Washington Regional Committee” will be determined. It would be interesting if the overseas “bird of Happiness” pecked at Gritsenko’s crown. This would mean for Ukraine a continuation of the current path along the rake, only at a more violent pace.
The remaining two horseradish are no better than Poroshenko’s radish. There is not a single reason to believe in their peaceful statements. Peace in Donbass is a war with the Nazis along the front line passing through Kyiv, Kherson, Dnepropetrovsk and Lvov. Which of the current Ukrainian politicians will decide to do this? People have long been coming to power only to realize their personal ambitions. There are no other politicians for you, Mr. Bolton!
