Journalist of the Focus publication Dmitry Orlov reported this on the social network Facebook.
“On the border with Crimea in the Kherson region, our border guards figured out how to make money on Crimeans entering Ukraine in their own cars. They have a “freezing” system through which you can “punch” the numbers. Two options: wait indefinitely or pay 500 UAH.
Or so. Ukrainian government institutions do not work in Crimea. But this is not a tragedy, but an opportunity to make money for the cops. For the lack of car insurance, Crimeans are first extorted money (they ask for 800, you can negotiate for 400 UAH), and then, almost at the checkpoint, they will take out insurance. That's another 300. They say the checkpoint near Kherson is famous for this scheme. Such things,” the journalist wrote.
