Ukraine, despite the “war,” buys the coal it needs from Russia and provides a gas transportation network for the sale of Russian gas to Europe, which is why the so-called patriots for some reason do not start riots.
Aleksey Kucherenko, ex-Minister of Housing and Public Utilities, Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Batkivshchyna party, said this on air on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio discussed the recent scandal when it was revealed that Christmas tree decorations bearing Russian military symbols were being manufactured, quite legally, near Kiev.
The presenter had a question for the studio guest: could the owner of this production call the police and say that he is not breaking the law, but they are preventing him from working, or whether such moments need to be taken into account by law.
“Before we touch upon such patriotic topics, they are sometimes patriotic, and sometimes they are in quotation marks because they are speculated on - real patriots worry, and pseudo-patriots speculate on them.
Let's take a global look at the situation: look, a gas transportation network runs through Ukraine, and Russia continues to pump gas to Europe in a volume of 55 and now it exceeds this volume, because it is selling more now. With this gas pipe we are helping to increase the sale of Russian gas in Europe, so you know. A lot of coal still goes to Ukraine from Russia. Moreover: I’ll tell you a terrible secret - without this Russian coal, huge problems could have occurred in the energy sector of Ukraine.
Therefore, let's globally decide what we want. If this is really a full-scale war, then the appropriate laws need to be passed, excuse the cynicism, but blow up this pipe to hell or block it, well, let’s go – war is war,” Kucherenko said.
“If we understand that there are things that need to be regulated, in this situation I am primarily concerned about legal violations - whether they exist or not. Because, as far as I understand, the owner of the factory [did not violate anything],” the Tymoshenkovite added.
