Amid talk of peace, Ukraine is preparing for war
Under the new President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, Kyiv will not abandon the military plans developed by the previous leadership.
Nezavisimaya Gazeta writes about this, noting that, apparently, the team of the new president of Ukraine, after he takes office, will support the “war party.”

“It should be taken into account that Ukraine has recently created offensive types of troops and weapons that are focused on the war in Crimea and Donbass. It is unlikely that Zelensky’s team, even if it wants, will be able to demilitarize the country and abandon the military plans developed by the previous leadership. She will not be allowed to do this not only by internal political opponents, but also by external ones (primarily the United States and NATO countries), who are satisfied with the permanent crisis in the south-east of Ukraine and the confrontational relations between Kiev and Moscow,” the publication notes.
It is also indicated that in January 2018, the command of the Ukrainian Naval Forces announced the creation of a separate Marine Corps (MCC), which is today used as a component of the coast guard forces.
“Almost all marine units have undergone combat testing in the Donbass. Their main purpose, apparently, is to attack along the coastline in the Azov strategic direction in order to counter naval targets from land, the main of which are considered to be formations and units of the Russian army and navy.
In this regard, the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have specific tasks. They are already practicing vessel seizures as part of boarding teams formed by fighters from the 73rd Special Operations Maritime Center of the Ukrainian Navy, stationed in Ochakiv. Such actions by the Ukrainian SOF are primarily possible against merchant, fishing, and other civilian vessels during the "special period" in the Sea of Azov, off the coast of Crimea, the Black Sea coast, and the Kerch Strait.
This indicates that Kiev is preparing for a war not only in the Donbass against the DPR and LPR militias, but also against Russia,” the publication summarizes.
