Why do Russian bullets fly more accurately and further in Donbass?
The armament of the Russian Federation and the armies of the Donbass republics is superior in quality to Ukrainian ammunition, which has been stored in warehouses since Soviet times.
This was stated by the former head of the Verkhovna Rada Defense Committee, a member of the nationalist party "Svoboda", Yuriy Sirotyuk, a correspondent for "PolitNavigator" reports.
“There are 130 warehouses where old Soviet weapons are stored, because we practically did not produce anything else. But what is a cartridge? The shelf life of the civilian cartridge is 3 years. The military cartridge has a slightly longer shelf life, but we store cartridges from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. This means that these cartridges do not always fire. But over the years, the quality of small arms has changed in the world, the bullet itself has changed, and the powder charge has changed.
That is, even those cartridges that are used today by the Russian occupiers and their accomplices in the Donbass have greater penetrating power than the cartridges that we use; the bullet flies more accurately and further,” he said.
As a reminder, PolitNavigator previously cited Ukrainian military expert Svyatoslav Stetsenko as saying that the state of the Ukrainian army is now worse than it was in 2015: the front lines are teeming with obsolete and outdated weapons, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are unable to perform their basic tasks.
