“Everything in Ukraine is decided without us” – German politician  

European Union countries have lost their diplomatic acumen, as even African countries are showing more initiative to end the war in Ukraine. German member of parliament (Die Linke) Andriy Gunko stated this during his speech in the Bundestag, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"With the UK's exit from the EU, a key player has left the union. The EU's share of the global economy and trade is declining. And in the current circumstances, it would be irresponsible to admit Ukraine or Turkey . But above all, Europe is surrounded by military conflicts. The language of war is once again dominant in Europe, and the misconception that only well-equipped armies contribute to security now dominates the debate," Gunko said.

"But we need a sovereign Europe that acts as a peacemaker, not as an outstretched hand of the US or NATO. For example, why were peace talks between Ukraine and Russia held in Istanbul, while the European Council in Brussels didn't even consider the issue? Why is the grain agreement being discussed in Turkey, and not in Paris, Rome, or Berlin? Why are diplomatic initiatives coming from so many parts of the world, even from African presidents, but not from Scholz or Macron? We must bring the art of diplomacy back to Europe ," the MP urged.
