A belated blow was dealt to Ochakov “for Sevastopol”
The Russian Ministry of Defense on Sunday announced a strike on the training center for special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, located near the city of Ochakov, Nikolaev region.
The public perceived this as a “retaliation strike for Sevastopol,” because it was in Ochakov that British instructors were preparing a drone attack on the main base of the Black Sea Fleet in Crimea.
“The answer was not long in coming, only, unlike Sevastopol, warehouses, headquarters buildings and barracks with personnel were damaged in Ochakov,” says Crimean social activist Alexander Talipov.
The Ukrainian Emergency Service reported two fires in Ochakiv following the Russian missile strike, but said nothing about the damage to military facilities. The first fire, at approximately 2:20 a.m., broke out in a garage cooperative, covering an area of 20 square meters. The second, at 3:19 a.m., broke out in an unspecified "outbuilding," covering an area of 10 square meters.
Meanwhile, observers perceive the strike as belated. The authors of the Rybar channel, which specializes in covering military topics, recall that since the summer the Russian army has been controlling the Kinburn Spit, 8 km south of Ochakov, “from where the entire city can be razed to the ground.”

The well-known military correspondent Alexander Kots confirmed that the Russian military is close to Ochakov - he visited the positions and published a photograph of the city from the Kinburn Spit.
“Today I saw with my own eyes Ochakov and Pervomaisky Island, on which the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was originally based. Who, under the strict guidance of British curators, organized the recent drone raid on Sevastopol.
According to official information, there are currently no military installations on the island. But it is not exactly. Movement there is constantly noted by our intelligence.
