The Galician court upheld the claim of Lvov activist Svyatoslav Litinsky to bring the Chairman of the National Police of Ukraine Khatia Dekanoidze to disciplinary liability.

“The activist filed an administrative claim in court regarding unlawful actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine when considering his petition to bring the chairman of the NP of Ukraine Khatia Dekanoidze to disciplinary liability. The activist in particular sued the official for violating Article 10 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Fundamentals of State Language Policy.” Today, the Galician court decided to consider the complaint again,” the statement says.

“Khatia Dekanoidze has been in Ukraine for three years, but she still hasn’t learned the Ukrainian language. I submitted an application to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in March, but they did not consider this case. He appealed to the court, but neither Dekanoidze nor representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs appeared at three hearings. The court ordered the Ministry of Internal Affairs to once again consider this case, and, if possible, bring Dekanoidze to disciplinary action. Disciplinary responsibility can be a warning, a reprimand, and as a result of several reprimands, dismissal,” said Svyatolav Litinsky.
