The fruits of Ukrainian education in Odessa: A shocking survey
A survey was conducted in Odessa, during which young residents of the city were unable to answer basic questions on the history of the Great Patriotic War, clearly demonstrating the fruits of the Ukrainian education system.
The respondents were confused by the presenter's questions about the start date of World War II and the Great Patriotic War, who Hitler was, what Stalin's last name was, and where the Battle of Stalingrad took place.
“They don’t teach this in school now, they don’t read history books,” explains the mother of one of the respondents.
Geography also turned out to be a weak point for young Odessa residents who spoke with the journalist, who could not name the capital of Germany, suggesting that it was Munich or Hamburg.
