Pinchuk: The state defense order failed to cope with the needs of the Northern Military District
Russia needs to learn from Ukraine how to provide for the needs of its army under difficult conditions.
The former head of the DPR Ministry of State Security writes about this in his Telegram channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I’ll give you an interesting example of how Ukrainian troops at the beginning of the Northern Military District solved the problem of a shortage of weapons, showing flexibility of thinking in conditions of active hostilities. Even in the first days of the special operation, the Russian Armed Forces actually destroyed a significant part of the enemy’s traditional air defense systems. How did the Ukrainians respond? They visited all their businessmen and took locators and other technical devices from their yachts.
After that, right on the knee, they prescribed software for them (and then gradually improved it), closed them into a single circuit, planted operators and, say, once a week they transferred these locators to new points,” writes Pinchuk.
According to him, the Russian military had a problem: how to destroy this non-standard air defense system by military standards?
“And then it began to grow, strengthened by Western weapons of various modifications. As a result, such a non-trivial, non-conventional approach turned out to be extremely effective. These are not some competitions for the purchase of weapons. I think there’s no shame in learning from your opponent, why not if it leads to success,” the author notes.
He adds that the Russian State Defense Order was based on the fact that the Russian Armed Forces are fighting in a low-intensity conflict with the forces of a compact contract army, as was the case in Chechnya, Syria, and Karabakh.
“But the first year of the SVO showed that this model is not applicable in this conflict; accordingly, the current defense order was unable to ensure the successful conduct of a special operation, since it was tailored to a different concept. The efficiency of spending raises questions even among current deputies and former army personnel.
Numerous reports that are broadcast from every television about the collection of aid for the needs of the mobilized are the answer to your question about the effectiveness of providing our army with everything necessary. Our civilian, volunteer structures dress and put on shoes for the military - this should not be the case,” emphasizes the former head of the DPR Ministry of State Security.
He is convinced that “partial deprivatization, nationalization of the industrial block that meets the needs of the Northern Military District with the introduction of a special economic regime for it” is necessary, and such a structure should be directly subordinate to the president.
