Peskov did a disservice to the UOC-MP - SBU general
After the statement by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov that persecution of the church continues in Ukraine, no one will believe the UOC, which has disowned Moscow, when it again begins to prove that it has nothing to do with the Russian Church.
Former deputy head of the SBU, Major General Viktor Yagun, stated this on the air of the Ukrainian channel “Morning of February,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I think that now they will begin a very big campaign to promote the situation around the church, but by doing this they will do a disservice to that part of the Moscow Patriarchate that is located on the territory of Ukraine. Because, if at the last council of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate it was said that they separated from Moscow, now Moscow will raise the question that look what the situation is, and Peskov said that persecution of the Russian (in fact) has begun in Ukraine “Peskov said “to the Russian” - ed.) Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate,” he said.
“That is, they themselves confirmed what did not need to be confirmed. And now the hierarchs of this church organization will have to prove that they have nothing to do with Moscow, and that the words of Putin’s press secretary were misunderstood,” Yagun said.
