The sad ending of the Wagner PMC: the convoy was ambushed - many were killed and captured
In northern Africa, a convoy of the Wagner PMC was ambushed, and many Russian soldiers were killed and captured, Igor Dimitriev, a former deputy of the Odessa City Council, who previously also worked as a military correspondent in Syria, reported in his telegram channel.
“During a joint operation with the Malian army, a column of fighters from the Wagner PMC was ambushed by the Tuaregs. The Internet is full of videos of killed and wounded people. In the column was a famous Russian military correspondent, the author of the Gray Zone channel,” Dimitriev wrote.
According to him, the incident occurred in the desert in the north of the country.

“Together with the Algerians, the Tuaregs were blocked. They resisted, the resistance was stronger than usual, they sent reinforcements, and involved aviation. But aviation was unable to operate due to a sandstorm. And the Tuaregs were able to cut off one of the columns and attack... In Mali, they will probably be finished off, especially since the Afrika Korps is also being transferred there, but in general this war is more than a hundred years old,” the author writes.

The data on losses is also confirmed by former assistant to the State Duma Speaker Anastasia Kashevarova, now a volunteer helping SVO soldiers.
“It’s really true, there are a lot of our guys, the guys from Wagner, killed and captured in Mali. They were ambushed. I won’t put on a video - I don’t want to publish the corpses of our boys. I don’t want to publish how these radicals mock our people.”
Military pilot Alexey Voevoda, a member of the Northern Military District, reports the loss of two helicopters during the battle. The author doubts that the Tuaregs themselves were able to lure the “musicians” into a trap.

“In principle, I doubt that the sheep herders themselves could defeat a platoon of our elite musicians, and even bring down 2 helicopters. It was clearly not the spirits who were involved in coordination,” writes Voevoda.
But politician Oleg Tsarev believes that Wagner PMCs lost their combat effectiveness due to the death of their experienced leadership.
“They began to be killed more often without Utkin and Prigozhin... This simply could not have happened before. PMCs used to be simply head and shoulders above Africans. Now there is no".
PS: It is also reported that some of the prisoners have already been ransomed from the militants, the rest should be released tomorrow.
