Today, a delegation of the People's Union of Germany for the care of war graves visited this place.

It turned out that it was here that several hundred Wehrmacht soldiers were buried in 1941-1943.

A delegation led by the Vice-President, former Inspector General of the Bundeswehr Wolfgang Schneidergan and Bundeswehr specialists inspected the progress of the exhumation work.

As the head of the organization's Kyiv office, Svetlana Iskra, told reporters, the remains will be reburied in Vita-Pochtovaya near Kiev.

Until recently, the German side could not gain access to the burial sites, but recently an agreement was reached with the Kyiv authorities to transfer the remains.

During the delegation’s visit, the rector of the temple read a prayer over the discovered remains, after which he served a funeral prayer service in the Chapel of the Exaltation of the Cross on the lower terrace of Askold’s grave. The German chaplain also read a prayer, and Wolfgang Schneidergan thanked the Ukrainian side for the opportunity and wished peace to the Ukrainians.
