Oligarch Firtash called for preventing a referendum on the Russian status of Crimea
Kyiv - Simferopol, March 08 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - The Federation of Employers of Ukraine, headed by gas oligarch Dmitry Firtash (controls Crimean Titan and Crimean Soda Plant), called for preventing a referendum on the reunification of Crimea with Russia.

“The Federation of Employers of Ukraine categorically condemns the events that destabilize the situation in Crimea. Calls for separatism, the actions of individual representatives of the local authorities of Crimea, representatives of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, provocations from unknown armed people are unacceptable and worsen the already extremely difficult situation in the region.
Ukrainian business condemns any calls for the division of Ukraine, military clashes, interethnic and interethnic confrontation. The Federation of Employers of Ukraine considers the use of violence against civilians and representatives of the media to be categorically unacceptable. Business calls on the authorities of Ukraine, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the international community to do everything possible to prevent further escalation of tensions.
The Federation of Employers of Ukraine calls on Crimean businesses not to participate in the referendum announced by local authorities until its legality is assessed in accordance with the norms of Ukrainian and international law.
Ways out of the political crisis must be sought exclusively within the framework of peace negotiations. This is the only way we can preserve the integrity of Ukraine and prevent human casualties. We insist that Ukraine is a sovereign and indivisible state, in which each of the regions is an integral part of the country. A way out of the crisis must be urgently found exclusively through peaceful negotiations,” the statement said.
It should be noted that representatives of the new Ukrainian government previously stated that Firtash illegally acquired industrial assets in Crimea.
“I am convinced that it is necessary to carry out an appropriate inspection of Crimean Titan; I have no doubt that it will end with the stolen enterprise being returned to state ownership. It is absolutely clear to me that the “Crimean Titan” was simply stolen from the state,” said deputy Andrei Senchenko from Batkivshchyna.
