About 200 thousand Montenegrins showed solidarity with the SOC to the Djukanovic regime
In the largest Montenegrin cities on the evening of February 9, lithiums and processions of parishioners of the Serbian Orthodox Church were held to protest against the discriminatory law “On Freedom of Religion.”
The Montenegrin police stated that about 53 thousand people took part in the protests, while according to unofficial data, about 60 thousand residents of Podgorica gathered near the capital’s Church of the Resurrection of Christ alone, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Milo (Duzkanovic, President of Montenegro - ed.), this is no longer your country,” pro-Serbian and pro-Russian oppositionist Marko Milacic commented on what was happening on his Facebook page. “Look at the beautiful Podgorica, embraced by freedom!”

In the Montenegrin capital, a protest prayer service and procession was led by Metropolitan Amfilohije Radovic of Montenegro-Litovsk.

“No one will take our shrines from us; they were installed and erected right here,” the bishop said. “And the lawless law was adopted by those who think that they can “kill Christ the way the court of Pontius Pilate decided.”
Also, the Metropolitan of Montenegro and Littoral noted that it is no coincidence that the current pro-Western Montenegrin regime has close contacts with the “president” of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, since he is not a representative of the virtuous Albanian people, but an international criminal who, together with NATO aircraft, destroyed about 150 Orthodox churches.
According to independent sources, the protests were also crowded in other Montenegrin cities: about 40 thousand people came out in Niksic, about 30 thousand people in Bijelo Polje, more than 20 thousand people in Bar, and more than 7 thousand people in Budva.

A poll conducted in January of this year showed that 62% of Montenegrin residents oppose the controversial law, which allows authorities to confiscate churches and monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Church in favor of schismatics controlled by the ruling regime.
