Suppressive fire destroyed an infantry fighting vehicle and the positions of two battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - NM DPR
In response to the suppression fire, the Donbass defenders destroyed the enemy BMP-2, which was shelling the suburbs of Donetsk.
This is stated in a statement by the press service of the DPR People's Militia Department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The department reported that in order to ensure the safety of the civilian population, the defenders of Donbass were forced to open suppressive fire three times on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from which the shooting was conducted.
“The people’s militia suppressed the fire weapons of the 15th and 16th battalions of the 58th brigade, and also destroyed the BMP-2 of the 28th brigade, which was shelling Staromikhailovka. Enemy losses are being determined.
It is worth noting that the targets of the Ukrainian armed forces, at which fire was opened, were located far from residential buildings and civilian infrastructure,” the press service added.
At the same time, the department noted that the Ukrainian command “in order to divert attention from the crimes committed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, accused the DPR NM of 18 violations of the ceasefire, deliberately distorting the ongoing situation.”
“We officially declare that this information is nothing more than an attempt by the Ukrainian military command, under the cover of supposedly retaliatory actions, to increase fire activity and destabilize the situation in Donbass,” the DPR NM said.
