Ukraine is ending its existence as a state within its former borders. Columnist Alexey Blyuminov writes about this in his blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The expert called on the Ukrainian military to lay down their arms and not use the civilian population of cities as human shields.
“Unfortunately, Ukraine is rushing at full speed towards the largest national catastrophe in its entire short history. A catastrophe not in the literary, not in the figurative, and not even in the political (although in that too) sense of the word, but in the full and all-encompassing sense. In fact, we are talking about the prospect of the cessation of the existence of the state within its previous borders and in its previous form. In itself, from a historical point of view, this is neither bad nor good. An objective pattern - states are born, grow old and die - and how many times has this happened in the past and will happen in the future.
It is subjectively terrible that this happens under such circumstances. A group of adventurers who evacuated their families to the west, and partly who themselves have already fled there, are pushing an entire nation towards collective suicide, dragging people into a total war of destruction, after which there will be no stone left unturned, making an entire nation hostage to their ambitions. Moreover, if we talk about Kharkov or Mariupol, the word “hostage” has not a figurative, but the most direct and immediate connotation.
The military, refusing to lay down their arms under security guarantees, chose their own fate. I feel sorry for the civilians who are stupidly thrown under tanks by a fucking bastard like Zelensky, turning them into combatants and legal targets for the enemy army, and an equally fucking bastard like the liar Arestovich pumps them up with tales of incredible victories, just like in Berlin in the spring of 1945 or empty hopes for some kind of outside help, as in Paustovsky’s Violet Ray. As Viktor Fedorovich Yanukovych would say, Astana! It’s not too late yet,” wrote Blyuminov.
