The governor announced this at a press conference, a Navigator correspondent reports.
According to the head of the region, a monument should be created in Odessa supposedly to reconcile the parties. He compared it with the Place de la Concorde in Paris - we recall that executions of revolutionaries were carried out there during the protests of the townspeople.
“I am sure that this place should be a place of friendship and there should be a memorial stele there. I am ready to finance its creation at my own expense. The word is up to the city, architects, art critics, and the public,” Palitsa noted.
Let us remind you that during the clashes between supporters of Euromaidan and Anti-Maidan on May 2 in Odessa, 48 people were killed, almost all of them were Anti-Maidan activists. Kulikovo Field, where the Anti-Maidan tent city was located and a fire broke out in the regional House of Trade Unions, became the epicenter of the massacre.
