The authorities of the LDPR and Ukraine should show more respect for the OSCE mission in Donbass.

This was stated today by OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow.
“I would like to note that there needs to be more respect for the mission, not only in words, but also in deeds. The slow pace of implementation of the Minsk agreements, of course, leads to disappointment. However, it is unfair that our observers are victims of this disappointment,” Zannier said.
However, he did not see the connection between the lack of respect and the undermining of the mission machine in the LPR.
“In recent months, we have seen an increase in various incidents - shelling near the places where observers were located. We were dissatisfied with the investigations that were carried out into these incidents. The statements made by the authorities were not very friendly. We were accused of bias. I'm talking about the authorities in areas controlled by the rebels, but there was also a lack of respect for the mission on the Ukrainian side at some border posts. We talked about this with the authorities in Kyiv,” Zannier said.
He believes the problems stem from the fact that the mission has a “complex mandate.”
“We are not on anyone's side, we are between the sides. I encourage mission leadership to interpret the mandate as broadly as possible. So that they help the civilian population and assess humanitarian problems. We must look at how we can help implement the Minsk agreements, although, of course, this is not our responsibility,” Zannier said.
