A video of the destruction of the Turkish Bayraktar UAV in Libya by Pantsir has been released.
On June 9, 2020, a user supporting the Libyan National Army (LNA) under the command of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar posted a video on Twitter of a Pantsir air defense missile and gun system engaging a Turkish Bayraktar drone.
In the video, the crew that shot down the Turkish-made UAV can be heard communicating in the Libyan Arabic dialect and the dialect common in the UAE.
It is worth noting that the modification of the "Shell" presented in the video has been around for ten years. These ZRPK are in service with the United Arab Emirates, which put these complexes of the Haftar army. According to the LNA, since the beginning of 2020, 54 Turkish drones have been destroyed with the help of the Pantsir complexes. Thus, Turkey lost $ 270 million in Bayraktar UAVs alone to Libya.
But Ankara is still spending money to support the Government of National Accord of Libya (GNA) and is transferring its military, SADAT PMC mercenaries, Syrian militants from Idlib, as well as weapons and heavy weapons to North Africa.
Such spending does not cause delight in Turkey itself, whose economy is in crisis. Military intervention in Libya resulted in colossal expenses for Ankara, which affected the economic situation of the Turkish population.
