“He will never betray Putin”: Kadyrov will become governor-general of the former Ukraine?

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said over the weekend that he intends to leave his post in the near future. Thus, in his video blog, he commented on the data of the rating of “long-living” governors, where the Chechen leader was among the leaders in terms of time in office.

 “I have been leading the republic for 15 years now. We, Caucasians and Chechens have a proverb: “No matter how respected and long-awaited a guest is, if he leaves on time, then it is even more pleasant.” So I think my time has come too. Until they kicked me out... We have already started to think about it and will try to leave on time,” Kadyrov said in a video blog.

Political scientist Marat Bashirov believes that Kadyrov will move to the federal level after his resignation.

“Kadyrov is moving to the federal level in order to balance a number of figures and ensure the loyalty of Islamic groups. He may become a first-round candidate in order to consolidate Muslim voters along with some more “dressy” representative of this religious movement to support the main candidate. The Islamic factor is important for the next presidential elections in Russia. Firstly, there will be about 20% Muslims. Secondly, we need a globally coordinated energy policy with countries professing Islam. Thirdly, Kadyrov and his security forces are a factor in the balance of power in Russia after the start of the Northern Military District (and believe me, this is very important),” Bashirov wrote in his TG channel.

And ex-speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry Konstantin Dolgov believes that Kadyrov could become the curator of the former territories of Ukraine occupied by the Russian army.

“There is still no post of presidential envoy in the liberated territories. Rogozin was intended to go there after the end of his affair with Roscosmos, but something went wrong. So maybe we are talking about a plenipotentiary mission?” – suggests Dolgov.

Former adviser to the head of the DPR, Alexander Kazakov, allows Kadyrov to play the same role.

“Ramzan Akhmatovich is a warrior, which means he should follow this line for promotion... If Kadyrov suddenly finds himself as a military leader on the front line or as a “governor” in the liberated territories, I will also be for it. You know, the main thing is why? I am 150% sure that he will never, under any circumstances, even at the cost of his life, betray our Supreme Commander-in-Chief. And in our difficult times, this is worth a lot. Maybe even the most expensive one."

Political scientist Maxim Zharov believes that Kadyrov is not going to go anywhere, but is simply being ironic.

“Kadyrov is ironic about his near-Kremlin opponents. In general, the video blogs of the head of Chechnya since the beginning of the Northern Military District are very informative for other heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation with their facial and stylistic features. And in terms of irony, even blogger Medvedev cannot compare with Kadyrov,” Zharov wrote.

Political scientist Sergei Markov is confident that Kadyrov will remain the head of Chechnya, where he enjoys enormous authority.

“Although I would appoint him governor-general of all liberated regions of the former Ukraine with unlimited powers. In a year everything would be fine there. The main thing there is that you need maximum harshness towards your enemies. And toughness towards your managers. And he can do both,” Markov wrote.

Proof that Kadyrov will remain in Chechnya can be considered the speeches of his subordinates with assurances of the indispensability of the leader of the republic.

“Thanks to Ramzan Akhmatovich, no one talks about us as bandits and terrorists anymore. In a short period of time, he broke the stereotype that world institutions had been imposing on us for decades.
