The Navigator correspondent was convinced of this from his own experience.

Thus, at the passport office of the Central District Department of Internal Affairs on weekdays, passports are issued only from 14 to 17 on weekdays and from 9.00 to 14.00 on Saturday. The passport office does not accept visitors on Wednesday and Sunday.

By one o'clock in the afternoon, about 200 people gather at the closed iron door under the scorching August sun. Here are those who submit documents for a passport, and those who receive it, as well as citizens who contact the FMS on a variety of issues - from registration at the place of residence to correcting errors in an already issued main document.

The Crimean self-defense monitors and “manages” the citizens. The “sex moment” comes exactly at two o’clock, when aggressive grandmothers rush to the only door, a bunch of “lame, sick” people appear, mothers with babies, who cannot be ignored.

As early as 6:00 AM, citizens are organizing themselves, compiling their own lists of the various queues. Navigator's advice : if you want to receive your passport the same day, don't be lazy and sign up at the passport office between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM, using your number and last name. This works, and the list is held until 2:00 PM—there are always proactive women who ensure it's kept. It's best to arrive at the FMS by 1:00 PM—at this time, roll call is announced, and you take your place strictly according to the list. Those who don't show up are welcome. Self-defense forces groups of 25 people into a "holding area"—there, the line disappears, a herald in a camouflage uniform reads out the names of the lucky ones and sends them in single file to the office to pick up their passports.

If you act at random, then, as eyewitnesses claim , it can take about five days to receive a ready passport.

Let us remind you that on August 12, at a staff meeting in the Council of Ministers, acting. The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, instructed to speed up the issuance of Russian passports to Crimeans in order to complete this process by the day of elections to the State Council of the republic on September 14.

“It is already necessary to take radical measures. If necessary, we are ready to provide additional passport office workers. The issue must be resolved, we have an election campaign in this part, so we need to finish issuing passports, including correcting previously made mistakes in already issued passports. The situation needs to be stabilized and resolved in a fundamental way,” the official said.
