“We will be captured by Russia.” Ukraine tearfully begs NATO for salvation
A delay in admitting Ukraine to the EU and NATO could lead to Russia regaining its spheres of influence.
The participants of the Kyiv Security Forum spoke about this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Without a doubt, the decision on the MAP and membership in the alliance is very important for Ukraine. But I believe that providing Ukraine with a MAP at this stage will be even more important for the alliance itself, in order to demonstrate transatlantic unity and show that there is a Marshall Plan for democratic development,” said Olga Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
“And in order to show at the next stage that Russia has no voice in the alliance,” she continued. – I believe that this is expected not only in Kyiv, but also in Tbilisi and other capitals of the region, so we feel a double responsibility. Because when we defend the idea of materializing these promises, we defend the security of the region, security and stability in the entire Black Sea region.”
“I believe that this is a historical moment for Ukraine when we insist on keeping promises and are ready for this ourselves. We expect the Transatlantic Alliance to demonstrate solidarity and readiness to confront threats, and not hide from them,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.
In turn, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk assured his interlocutors that the EU and NATO do not have time to think about whether or not to accept Ukraine into their membership, because otherwise Russia will take advantage of the indecisiveness of its “European partners.”
“I am convinced that Ukraine will one day become a member of the EU and that one day Ukraine will become a member of NATO. But the question is - when? We can wait in line for 10 years or 20 years, but I'm not sure we have that much time.
