“Brazen deception and deception”: Putin summed up the grain deal with Ukraine
The “grain deal” concluded between Russia and Ukraine through the mediation of the UN in Istanbul became another deception - instead of supplying grain to needy African countries, it went to the West.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this while speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
According to the head of state, he will discuss the issue of limiting the export of grain with the President of Turkey, which also acted as a mediator in the negotiations.
“I report to you, dear colleagues: if we exclude Turkey as an intermediary country, then almost all the grain exported from Ukraine is sent not to developing, poor countries, but to EU countries. Under the UN food program, which involves helping countries in need, only 2 ships out of 87 were loaded. They carried 60 thousand tons of food out of 2 million tons. Well, that's only 3% that are sent to developing countries
Just as many European countries acted as colonialists, they continue to act. Once again, developing countries have simply been deceived and continue to be deceived.
With this approach, the scale of food problems will only increase, which could lead to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. It is worth considering limiting the directions for the export of grain and other food along this route. I will definitely consult on this topic with the President of Turkey, Mr. Erdogan...

This is a deception of the international community, a deception of partners in Africa and other countries that are in dire need of food. This is just a scam. Boorish and arrogant attitude towards partners, for the sake of which all this was supposedly done,” Putin said.
Vasily Nebenzya, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, did not rule out Russia’s withdrawal from the agreements:
“I am not involved in negotiations on the deal and its extension, but given the results, or rather the lack of results, I would not rule anything out.”
At the same time, observers urge not to wait until the end of the deal, but to exit it now.
“That is, Russia was “dumped”, the conditions were not met, and we have to wait until November so as not to renew? Why not start by fulfilling the conditions in which Russia is interested? If the requirements of the Russian Federation are not met, there is no deal. This arithmetic is more efficient. By November there will be nothing to export. There are no 20-25 million tons there,” writes economist Alexander Dudchak.
Publicist and Russian nationalist Yegor Kholmogorov has a similar opinion:
“Our dear Western partners have betrayed us again. Although we tried so hard. What an incredible thing!”
