According to Forbes magazine , various scenarios regarding the future of this institution are currently being considered. Among them, the bank could be placed under temporary administration if state shareholders are unable to provide additional capital.
The owner of Nadra Bank is businessman Dmitry Firtash. His fortune is estimated at $400 million - he ranked 19th on the list of the richest. In March 2014, the businessman was arrested in Austria at the request of the US FBI.
Nadra Bank is closely linked in the current crisis with another major institution - Delta Bank. There are mutual credit obligations between them, which make it impossible to simultaneously save both banks using budget money.
The publication's sources reported that on Sunday, February 1, some of the bank's employees went to work, as the institution was already preparing for some changes. At the same time, official sources neither confirmed nor denied the information that a temporary administration will be introduced into the bank in the near future.
“The bank’s problems didn’t just appear—they were there quite a long time ago. When problems began with the main owner, Group DF, suspicions arose that the bank might also have problems. The limits on the Nadre interbank exchange were cut back in the middle of last year,” Alexander Zholud, an analyst at the International Center for Advanced Studies, told the publication.
