In Odessa, on the eve of the mourning rallies on May 2, Ukrainian nationalists hung yellow and blue flags on Kulikovo Field and the House of Trade Unions, where dozens of pro-Russian Odessa residents were burned alive a year ago.

“Can such a display of the flag of Ukraine be possible - given the location and upcoming date of May 2nd! – considered a provocation? Absolutely yes! The bandits' calculation is simple - let someone try to remove these flags - they will immediately be sent to the police, to the SBU, to some kind of "holes" ...

The main thing, as I understand it, is that the flags were hung without mourning ribbons attached to them, which is the only thing that could justify this provocation.

Therefore, for those who have decided to come to Kulikovo Field on May 2, it would be appropriate to wear a black ribbon on their clothes, or a black armband, or (for women) to wear a black scarf...”, comments Odessa TV presenter Grigory Kvasnyuk.
