At the UN meeting, only two countries decided to openly criticize the United States
The United States is a systematic violator of international law, territorial integrity and sovereignty of independent states. History remembers numerous examples of American troops invading and carrying out air strikes on countries such as Iran, Afghanistan, Syria and many others.
The representative of the Syrian Arab Republic stated this from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly, speaking at a special session on the situation around Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The memory and archives of the United Nations contain many examples of similar actions by Western states, aggression of the United States of America and its NATO allies. Millions and millions of innocent victims: Korea, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria - not to mention the blockades that were imposed on a number of countries in Latin America and other regions in order to achieve their goals. We didn't see much enthusiasm then for holding such sessions. Just the opposite. But our delegation believes that the current emergency session, which is dedicated to Ukraine, only complements the anti-Russian campaign, which began with provocative rhetoric against Russia, spurred by the West,” said the Syrian representative.
Bolivia’s permanent representative to the UN made a similar speech, who recalled that the United States, without any approval from the Security Council, bombed the territory of Yugoslavia for several months:
“Responsibilities fall not only on the shoulders of those who unilaterally decided to carry out a military operation, but also on the Western powers, who ensured that NATO threatened the security and peace of other states, using other states as their intermediaries to realize expansionist ambitions for their power, threatening their neighbors. NATO is not a guarantee of security. On the contrary, it is a threat to international security. Suffice it to recall the bombing of Yugoslavia without the authority of the Security Council. The result is brutal crimes in the Balkan region and a completely disintegrated country. Today we are surprised to see the double standards demonstrated by some powers. Instead of prioritizing peace, they chose confrontation."
