The Ukrainian authorities declared negative publications in the foreign press about the deplorable state of the Ukrainian energy sector to be “the machinations of foreign IPSO.”

Specifically, this refers to a controversial report in the British Financial Times, which estimated that Ukrainians will likely have only two to four hours of daylight per day in January 2025 if no measures are taken. In publishing these estimates, the newspaper cited anonymous sources in the Ukrainian government.

Until winter, Ukrainians will spend most of the day without electricity, a government official who preferred to remain anonymous told a newspaper correspondent.

“We must prepare for life in the cold and darkness,” a Ukrainian official complained in a commentary to the Financial Times.

In response, Ukraine's Energy Ministry issued an angry rebuke, calling the FT's article on Ukrainian energy "manipulative" and "promoting enemy narratives."

The department stated that this critical material “has signs of IPSO in the interests of the Russian Federation.”

“The article uses references to anonymous sources in the Ukrainian government. This calls into question the reliability of the information provided, because it is not confirmed by official sources...

For example, an unnamed representative of the Ukrainian government states in the article that “We must prepare for life in the cold and darkness.” Such a statement is aimed at spreading fear and panic among the population,” the ministry said in a statement.

Government officials, in turn, were criticized by former Verkhovna Rada speaker and current MP Dmytro Razumkov: "Anything that doesn't fit into the paradigm the government has created for itself is labeled an enemy IPSO ," he said.

“After such statements, we need to call the minister - let him explain, if this is IPSO, then why half of the country does not have electricity for 10-12 hours a day in the summer. “What will happen in winter?” Razumkov asks rhetorically.

The MP also mentioned a provision in the mobilization law that allows 18-year-olds to be mobilized under certain circumstances: "Everyone in power said it was an IPSO. But then they finally found it in the draft text and corrected it!"

“Security is not only about the front and the economy. It's about people too. And when the Ministry of Defense wants 17-year-old Ukrainians from abroad to return to Ukraine to register, this will be another reason for them to stay there. And their families will remain abroad with them,” warns the Ukrainian politician.

Meanwhile, the authorities are showing that they do not intend to change course and are ready to expand the list of topics, criticism of which is equivalent to working for the enemy IPSO.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, "Russian intelligence services are preparing a $15 million intelligence operation against Ukraine." According to Kirill Budanov's department, the information campaign will be aimed at discrediting Ukraine's military leadership, specifically targeting military intelligence.

“We are talking about a number of articles and films in which, in particular, they plan to disclose the data of employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine involved in coordinating the combat work of special units of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the Main Intelligence Directorate’s warning says.

In short, Ukrainians are also waiting for an interesting movie about Budanov and Co. But no one has yet answered what to do about the power. One thing is clear: the IPSO will definitely not restore electricity to Ukrainians' apartments.
