Kharkov, April 28 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In Kharkov, at the scene of the attempt on the life of Gennady Kernes, law enforcement officers found an object similar to a bomb. Kernes himself is in the operating room: there is a threat to his life.

The mayor of Kharkov, Gennady Kernes, was seriously wounded in the chest and abdominal cavity, the director of the Institute of Surgery, Valery Boyko, told reporters.
The surgeon noted that there was a threat to the mayor's life and refused to make any predictions. According to him, Kernes was brought to the hospital unconscious, and is now under anesthesia. The threat to his life will persist for several days. At the moment, the mayor has not yet recovered from anesthesia and continues to be unconscious in the operating room.
However, they try not to discuss the exact whereabouts of Kernes, since law enforcement officers fear another assassination attempt. The mayor's personal security and machine gunners are on duty at the hospital.
Law enforcement officers are working at the scene. According to unofficial information, a sniper shot at Kernes with an SVD rifle. In addition, a bomb-like object was found and is being examined by specialists. According to other sources, a grenade was found.
Let us recall, as Navigator reported, today an attempt was made on the mayor of Kharkov. There have already been suggestions that pro-Russian movements may be behind the assassination attempt.
