All three vehicle checkpoints on the Russian-Ukrainian border from Crimea are operating 24/7 and in normal mode. This was reported by the FSB Border Directorate for the Republic of Crimea, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“There are no plans to stop the passage of persons, vehicles, cargo, goods and animals across the state border of the Russian Federation,” the border department emphasized. – Please note that citizens of Ukraine can enter the Russian Federation if they have valid documents. However, no documents are required to confirm the purpose of entry.”

Travel restrictions towards Ukraine are subject to restrictions introduced in March 2020 as anti-Covid measures. Thus, it is necessary to present documents confirming the presence of Ukrainian citizenship, close relatives or real estate beyond the border.

Border guards confirm data on 100 thousand refugees since the beginning of the special operation, who proceeded through the territory of Crimea further to the Russian Federation. More than 1 thousand applied directly at checkpoints to be granted temporary asylum on the territory of the Russian Federation.

“The road between Crimea and our liberated territories has turned into a road of life, as it was during the Great Patriotic War in besieged Leningrad. There are gigantic flows of people, cars and goods in both directions,” wrote former People’s Deputy of Ukraine and ex-Speaker of the Parliament of Novorossiya Oleg Tsarev in his Telegram channel. – The border is now a bottleneck, a problem that must be solved. The Chongar border checkpoint is located on a narrow strip of land sandwiched by a strait. There is nowhere to expand the checkpoint. Perhaps it should be moved to the peninsula or mainland and expanded there, but this will take time. Now all the checkpoint booths are working, but there are still long queues.”

According to Tsarev, border control takes time and care. The weather is already hot, and people are getting heatstroke while waiting. The issue of arranging the border checkpoint is under the control of the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov.

“There are also positive developments—a very significant decision has been made: customs clearance has been temporarily cancelled,” Tsarev emphasized. – The result is a significant reduction in clearance time, lower prices in our territories and partial saturation of the market with goods. Partially for now! There is still some work to be done. But peaceful life has already begun, and this is the main thing. Think about what we have all achieved together: de facto, from the point of view of customs, our new territories in Ukraine are Russian territories.”

According to the politician’s forecast, the flow of cars and people on the border with Crimea may increase many times over. And you need to be prepared for this.
