We expected victory in the “counter-offensive”, but now we are witnessing the suffering of Ukraine - ex-Prime Minister of Sweden
Western countries expected a quick victory from Ukraine and were disappointed by the failed “counter-offensive.”
Former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt stated this during the Deciding Your Tomorrow panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Bildt, there is now a risk of defeat for Ukraine.
“In my opinion, there is indeed a theoretical possibility that Ukraine will lose, whatever that means. But there is a risk in those debates in our countries; these are all different sensations and feelings. We don't think about what we lost, but if we lost, but everyone expected Ukraine to win quickly.
And there were very high expectations from the summer counter-offensive, but now there is a wave of disappointment and pessimism. And we all know about the pain of Ukraine during this war - these are sacrifices, suffering, all this is increasing every day,” Bildt reasoned.
