"We are one people." In Kyiv, the monument to Pushkin desecrated by the Nazis was cleaned up
In Kyiv, several dozen people came out to honor the memory of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.
The leader of the Ukrainian Komsomol members, Mikhail Kononovich, told PolitNavigator about this.
The event was attended by members of the Lenin Komsomol of Ukraine, the Anti-Fascist Committee, as well as local communists. They came to Pushkin Park to clean up the monument to the great poet desecrated by nationalists.
“People concerned with nationalities tried to knock out the letters on the Pushkin monument with a hammer. That year we put everything in order and glued the letters. And no matter how much we wrote a statement to the police, nothing happened. Unfortunately, the Mankurts rule Ukraine,” Kononovich said.
He emphasized that the people of Kiev did what local utilities turned a blind eye to and put the monument in order.
The politician also added that in this way local residents demonstrated that, despite the political situation and the efforts of the Kyiv leadership, they continue to honor the memory of the great Russian poet.
“The position of the Zelensky regime is not the position of the Ukrainian people. Millions of Ukrainians revere Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin and friendly, good neighborly relations with Russia. We are one people,” Kononovich concluded.
