A Moldovan social activist accused Dodon of betraying Russia
Moldovan President Igor Dodon, who is considered a pro-Russian politician, wants, through the mediation of the United States, to enter into an alliance with oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, who is called the “master of Moldova,” and thus strengthen his power.
This opinion was expressed on Facebook by the famous Moldovan civil activist Aurel Bacureanu.

“He betrayed Putin, who made him a recognizable face. Knowing that only the United States has influence on Plahotniuc, he asks the American embassy for assistance. At a recent meeting with US senators, our Dodon asked for help in solving the Transnistrian problem. By doing this, he abandoned Putin and the Russian Federation, which has interests in Transnistria. It is absurd to ask the Americans for help in an issue that only Russia can solve,” writes Bakureanu.
At the same time, he believes that Plahotniuc will not agree to an alliance with Dodon, but will achieve early parliamentary elections, in which he will take a confident majority.
“Dodon is the bitch who wants to compromise with everyone, but no one believes him. In 2012 he betrayed Voronin, in 2014 he made sure that Usatii was removed. Protests began - he became president. Now they tell him: let’s overthrow Plahotniuc. He: no, we will follow the law and vote together with Plahotniuc. He promised to be pro-Russian, pro-language, to imprison Plahotniuc, but after the elections he agreed to negotiate with everyone,” the author argues.
Let us recall that Bakureanu is on the sanctions list of the Ukrainian authorities for his participation in 2018 in a rally near the Ukrainian Embassy in memory of the fallen opponents of the Maidan, burned alive by Ukrainian nationalists in Odessa in the House of Trade Unions.
Let us also remind you that the Moldovan parliament has not been able to start working for more than two months, because the parties that entered it are not able to create a coalition and elect governing bodies.
If a coalition is not created, the country must hold early elections. This is risky for parties represented in parliament, since there is an opportunity not to improve, but to worsen their last result.
That is why the socialists, who did not receive the required majority in parliament as a result of the last vote, have to consider the possibility of unnatural coalitions with their ideological opponents.
According to the results of the parliamentary elections that took place in Moldova in February, the socialists won 35 mandates, the democrats of the oligarch Plahotniuc - 30, their pro-Western competitors from ACUM - 26. The Sor party, controlled by Plahotniuc, won another 7 mandates.
