The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine is considering the possibility of allowing one of the parents with whom the child lives to take him abroad for a period of up to one month without the permission of the other parent, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Justice Minister Pavel Petrenko announced this on Twitter.

“One of the innovations of the second package of #Other People’s ChildrenDon’t Buy laws is to give the opportunity to one of the parents with whom the child lives to take the child abroad for up to 1 month without the permission of the other parent,” he wrote.

“This is a completely European practice that will allow the child to rest or undergo treatment,” the minister added.

Now, to export children under 16 years of age, a notarized permission from the second parent is required, with the route and time frame of the trip. One of the exceptions is deprivation of parental rights.
