Minister of Education and Science Liliya Grinevich said that Russia has appropriated part of Ukrainian history, so it needs to be changed.

She said this on the Espreso.TV channel.
“We are a country that has an aggressor state nearby that constantly pursues aggressive policies. Of course, in such conditions, as throughout the world, the issue of national identity is very important, and here, when we talk about the Ukrainian school, there is a very important issue of education on values. To form in a child a love for the country and patriotism is a great task and these should not be separate educational lessons. The entire content of education should work towards this,” the minister said.
According to her, it is necessary to update and modernize the content of education, in particular. history of Ukraine.
“Because over the years this meaning has been emasculated. The neighboring state appropriated part of Ukrainian history, and therefore, our education standards must be updated on this subject, with the help of which we can write new Ukrainian textbooks, but this is a gradual process,” added Grinevich.
