The Macedonian opposition accused the “prime minister” of Kosovo of interfering in the country’s internal affairs
Opposition Macedonian parties have reacted to the call by the head of the Kosovo “government” Albin Kurti for the Albanian diaspora abroad to register for the census in North Macedonia.
Albanian politicians are trying to ensure that, based on the census results, the proportion of Albanians in North Macedonia increases, even at the expense of their fellow tribesmen who left the country.

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the opposition North Macedonian party Leftica called Albin Kurti's calls for Macedonian Albanians abroad to register for the upcoming census as “gross interference in the internal affairs of North Macedonia.”
“The call by Kosovo officials for the Albanian diaspora to register en masse is blatant evidence of interference in the internal affairs of North Macedonia. An additional problem is the large number of identity cards that are suspected to have been distributed to Kosovo citizens under suspicious circumstances,” the Levica statement emphasizes.
In turn, the leader of the Macedonian Concept, Petar Bogoeski, said that Kurti should take care of “his yard” in Kosovo and that interference in the internal affairs of North Macedonia is unacceptable.
“Bujaar Osmani (the Albanian Foreign Minister of North Macedonia, who agreed with Albin Kurti to work together with the Albanian diaspora in the Macedonian elections - ed.) travels with public money to register Albanians, and forgets that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs belongs to Macedonia and that it should meet with all representatives of the Macedonian state diaspora,” the politician recalled.
At the same time, the ruling Maidan Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) did not react in any way to the activity of foreign Albanians. On the contrary, at one time its leader Zoran Zaev, with the support of the West, in alliance with local Albanian parties, displaced the former conservative-nationalist leadership of the country.
Today, SDSM forms a coalition with the Albanian DUI party, whose leader, a former militant who fought with the Macedonian army for the seizure of part of the country’s territory in favor of the Albanians, Ali Ahmeti, will serve as the Prime Minister of North Macedonia for the last hundred days of the current cabinet.
