The deputies adopted a corresponding appeal today at the session.
Deputies believe that before May 9 it is necessary to adopt a law on amnesty and non-prosecution of fighters of the Berkut, Alpha special forces and internal troops, military personnel, as well as on legal guarantees of non-prosecution of activists and all participants in protests and seizures of administrative buildings in the east of the country followed by their disarmament.
“We warn: the absence of compromise leads to the destruction of not only democracy, but also the state as such,” the deputies said.
They demanded to “immediately cancel the military special operation, hypocritically covered up with the word “anti-terrorist.”
“We do not support extremism, but we are also categorically against any violence against people who are now fighting for their rights, mirroring what happened in Western Ukrainian lands and in Kiev,” the statement said.
“We declare the inadmissibility of dividing the people of Ukraine into a “titular nation”, whose representatives are allowed everything, and the “diaspora”, “fifth column”, “occupiers”, who cannot even open their mouths, let alone defend their interests,” it says in circulation.
According to the deputies, the Kyiv authorities chose the unacceptable option of “persuasion” - not dialogue, but “violence and suppression of any protest.”
“We were all labeled as ‘separatists’, ‘terrorists’ and ‘Russian saboteurs’ at once.” They are already ready to use the army to “liberate” the territories from us - contrary to the laws and the Constitution, which do not allow the use of armed forces within the country against their own people!” - they think in the Lugansk regional council.
Let us recall, as Navigator reported, on April 14, acting. President of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov announced a large-scale anti-terrorist operation. “This fully complies with Ukrainian legislation. And I am convinced that in the near future the situation will be normalized with the support of the local population of Donbass,” he said.
